I am very sad great opass golden jubile is not going to celebrate the way should be. We the old student should blame ourselves, celebration like this we shouldnt have depend on the headmaster to detect to old student what he want to do. I learnt we have two assistant headmasters who are opassians and also a lot of masters who are old students what are you guys doing?. I think the harm is done already, believe me when i leave to see the diamond jubulee it will not organize the way this was. by the way happy 50 years opass and wishes you more years to come. Opass as a small village secondary school had contribute a lot to the nation, had produce good medical doctors, lawyers, engineers accountants sportman and good statemen.

Hi,

It is deeply troubling to hear this. Lots of Opassians have given their "all" to announce their contribution to the just cause of our alma mater. It seems most of the projects were beyond the financial scope of our operation. That means less interest and less contributions from the larger population. Nonetheless, there is always room to improve and ways to enhance our collective effort.

I like I stated in one of my postings, there is the need to rework our programs and start with small projects, and also show some support to the surrounding villages or towns.

1. The school can start a mentoring program(s) to some of the JSS and pre schools in the vicinity. This initiative does not require a whole lot of money, but having some of the present students and lecturers to volunteer to do this. This will have a direct impact on the local population and we can win the hearts and minds of the citizens therein.

2. The school can generate some sort of income by creating seminars, support programs etc in and around Tafo.

3. minor projects can be done by the student population (paintings, gardening) etc.

There is the need to announce our presence in that community, the school belongs to the people, and we should come out with programs to attract the local populace.

All this can be managed by the school's program managers.
