It appears we have been dormant this new year and much is not being done towards our 50th anniversary celebrations. As at now, there is no news on the launch date and any other activities planned for the period. As key stakeholders of Ofori Panin, we need to be interested in whatever happens there and also add our voice to whatever the planning committee is doing.
Uncle Charles can you suggest a date for the Accra Branch to meet so that we can start putting ideas together?
I'm glad you brought this issue up. I lay the blame at he doorsteps of the Headmaster. The launching of the 50th anniversarry should have been about a year ago but despite some prodding from people like me, nothing substantial has been done. I have heard some nonsensical excuses and I have even decided not to go. I can't be part of a program that is not well thought and planned. What kind of leadership do we have at the school? It seem all the powers are vested in the hands of the headmaster and nobody can bypass him to do anything. We are almost at the end of March and they don't even have a specific date for the function and not even a hint of the guests. I'm deeply frustrated and angry because this occassion takes place once in a lifetime and look at how it's being managed. We might have to take a radical approach and put some pressure on the headmaster. Everthing is being directed to the headmaster and he too is treating this as an ordinary speech and prize giving day. We must wake up and write letters to that buffoon for him to wake up.
how can tempers come down, when our only and only jubilee that we the old folks can see in our life time is been treated as a joke. believe me if this headmaster was an old student of the great opass, he will have acted longtime. Mpainfoo, let us advice ourselves and don't let this headmaster decide for us. Even if we have to postpone it to next year we should set up committee and start doing something and forget about him. because, this is our day we the mpaninfoo, not him.
Please be slow to anger and watch your language and remember that no matter how frustrated we are, the headmaster is a dad, husband, etc. Has anyone actually asked him why he is hesitating????
Whatever we think, he is still the head/looks after the school, so he must be doing something good - right? It is our school and we love Opass, but the headmaster is the man in charge so we need to work together with him and must respect him.
I heard some ridiculous excuse, I even decided not to go. About a year ago, has launched 50 anniversarry but despite doing some people like me encouragement, not substantive.
