This is a special appeal from me to all mpaninfo who, for various reasons, will not be able to attend our 6th Annual Reunion this Saturday, June 18. Please donate generously in support of the Sick Bay Project for our alma mater which our association intends to finance jointly with the Class of 79. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
During the past year, your executives have made several inquiries to determine the most urgent need for our former school that we can support financially. The feedback we received puts a Sick Bay at the top of the priority needs for our school. Fortunately, the Class of 79 had also identified the same need and had decided to do all they can to build the facility and present it to the school during the climax of the Golden Jubilee celebrations in November. However, they realize that without help from other groups or alumni associations, it may take a few years and not months to complete it. The project is currently estimated to cost GHC50,000 and each member of the class/group has been asked to pay a special assessment to the building fund. The school administration has already designated a site for the project and a contract will be awarded as soon as enough funds are raised.
Your executive officers are unanimous in our support for the project. In deed, we have had several discussions with the leaders of the Class of 79 in Ghana and they would be very delighted to have us join them in partnership to build the facility. Therefore, we intend to bring the issue to a vote during our reunion. Were optimistic that the general assembly will wholeheartedly endorse our recommendation to team-up with the Class of 79 and finance this all important project for our alma mater. Itll be one of our lasting legacies to our beloved OPASS.
Our fundraising activities during the forthcoming reunion will be committed mostly towards the project. Its rather unfortunate that some of you will not be able to attend the reunion; well definitely miss you! However, your donation to the Sick Bay Project Fund will be deeply appreciated.
